1st ob appointment

Today I went to my first ob appointment for this pregnancy. It was actually pretty eventful for a first appointment. We did an ultrasound of the baby. He/She is measuring at about 2 cm or 1 inch. There was a great heartbeat. According to measurements my due date is actually about September 2 instead of August 27th, so not that much different. It is just crazy to me how fast they grow from 2 cells to a figure with a head and body! Next appointment is at the end of February. That one probably will be fairly uneventful.

Just because everyone keeps asking. I feel pretty good. Of coarse I am nauseated almost all the time, but there is nothing to be done about it so I just try to ignore it for the most part. My hips are already shifting and putting my back out of alignment. (I know this because before I got pregnant I went to a back doctor who showed me what to do to realign my hips from a car accident years ago. I am now getting the same pain I got before I went to see him.) Overall though there is nothing to complain about.

We are not hoping for any specific gender. A boy would be nice ONLY because we already have a lot of boy clothing. We will be ecstatic with a healthy baby boy or girl. We should find out the gender sometime in March.

Last thing is how we are doing otherwise. I am in school and am CRAZY busy. O'ryan is working a ton with security and teaching tkd at the high school still. Needless to say we are both extremely exhausted all the time. (what else is new right?)

Expecting!

Well here is the news. We are expecting our second baby. We are due on or about August 27th. We will know as it gets closer what the exact date will be (since it will be another c-section.) We are very excited. So far nothing out of the ordinary to complain about. Haven't been too sick. Can't wait for a heart beat, movement, and finding out if we are having a boy or a girl. Will update with the important things. : )

New year

So it's a new year. I have a feeling this year is going to be very different from last year. First of all O'Ryan closed his tae kwon do school. It was definitely last on the list of things he wanted to do, but lets all face it, the economy sucks right now and it's one of the first things people cut when money is tight. He got a job as a security officer. I wasn't sure what to think about it, but it's what he wants to do and he enjoys it so far.

Second I am starting school next week on Monday. Bleh. I still don't know how to feel about this yet. When I got my nursing degree I swore I would never go back to school, but it feels like the right thing to do right now. I hate going to school. I feel like it's just jumping through a lot of hoops, but what are you going to do. I have decided and I will see it through.

There is nothing else new going on for us right now, other than we have both been sick. O'Ryan last week and then me this. I think I got it worse than him. thanks for the present honey. All well, I could have easily caught it from one of my many patients who thinks nurses liked to be coughed all over and don't cover their mouths, and also they wait until you are leaning down with your stethoscope right in front of their face to do it. So thoughtful. I know I sound bitter. I actually do love my job but there are certain parts of it I could do without.
